Paragon’s Dragon Kiln is powerful and feature-packed! Its muscular 16.8 KW heat the interior to cone 10. Extra insulation saves energy and allows the kiln to cool slowly, giving glazes time for full development. An Orton Sentry 2.0 electronic controller is included, with a range of user-programmable firing options including programmed cool-down, perfect for glass and crystaline glazes. The Dragon’s 4" thick walls, top, and door are made of 3" firebrick backed by 1" of ceramic fiber block insulation, and the floor is 4½" thick firebrick. Extra insulation means better safety too. At full cone 10 firing temperature, the exterior measures only 170°F. The firing chamber measures 24" W × 24" D × 27" H, a full 9 cubic feet. A front-loading door protects back muscles. It swings open easily on a heavy ¾" steel rod with sealed bearings. Two spring-loaded latches press the door tightly closed. Black finish with stainless steel case optional. Two tapered peepholes in side. Mercury relays power the elements. Built-in NEC/UL/CUL compliant high-amperage fuses protect the kiln and its wiring. The Dragon Kiln is available in 208V and 240V models, in single phase or three phase. The optional stand measures 24" tall, and can be used with or without casters. Certified to UL & CSA Standard 499. It requires a 75A circuit with #4 copper wire. The Dragon Kiln will fit through a 34 doorway if the handles and back element cover are temporarily removed. Shipping weight is approximately 660 lbs without furniture and stand.
